Joachim Jirou-Najou is a french industrial designer born in Nancy (1980). He graduated in 2004 from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris with honors. After having shared his activity between a collaboration with Pierre Charpin and personal projects between 2004 and 2012, he created his studio at the beginning of 2013.
Drawing is for Joachim Jirou-Najou a founding element of his design practice and finds resonance in many projects and collaborations. He regularly collaborates with publishers, including Habitat for whom he designs various projects or the Danish company EO with the Bear carpet and the Floe coffee table, which marks the beginning of his collaboration with the Galerie kreo. Furthermore, he is regularly in charge of the scenography of exhibitions for institutions such as the Villa Noailles, national center of national interest or the Centre Pompidou.
 

Elected one of the 10 designers of the year at the "Now! design à vivre" show in 2010, he was also the winner of the Agora design grant with the Dito collective in 2007, of which he is a founding member. Joachim Jirou-Najou was a resident at the Ateliers de Paris from 2013 to 2015.

 

Two of his projects, the Portée series and the Nours disguise, have been acquired by the Centre National des Arts Plastiques (CNAP) for the collections of the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain (FNAC) while two other projects the Tipi coffee table and the Mont Tamalpaïs vases were acquired in 2023 by the Centre Pompidou to integrate its collections.
